Kate Kalmykov focuses her practice on business immigration and compliance. She represents clients in a wide-range of employment based immigrant and non-immigrant visa matters including professionals, managers and executives, artists and entertainers, treaty investors and traders, persons of extraordinary ability, outstanding researchers/ professors and national interest waivers. In addition, Kate assists clients with obtaining J-1 waivers of the two-year home country residence requirement.

Kate has extensive experience in preparing immigrant petitions for investors. She regularly develops creative immigration solutions for high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs investing in the United States.

In addition, Kate regularly works with various human resources departments on I-9 employment verification matters. Kate regularly counsels employers on due diligence issues including I-9 and H-1B internal audits and reviews, as well as minimization of exposure and liabilities in government investigations.

Kate provides assistance in naturalization and family based immigration matters and has been instrumental in resolving security name check delays for adjustment of status and naturalization applicants through the filing of mandamus actions in federal district court.

Prior to joining Klasko, Rulon, Stock & Seltzer, LLP, Kate worked at a large international law firm in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
